Holds Policy
Gray Box Theater recognizes that event planning often requires securing a date before all details are finalized. To support this process, we offer event producers the option to place a temporary hold on a date at no cost. While a date is on hold, it will be reserved exclusively for your event and not offered to other clients.
Multiple holds may be placed on a single date; however, priority is determined by the order in which holds are received.
If another party requests the same date during your hold period, you will be granted a 72-hour “right of first refusal” to confirm your booking by submitting both a signed rental agreement and the required deposit. If confirmation is not received within this timeframe, the date will be released and made available to the other party.
The Gray Box Theater is committed to presenting performances and events that reflect our values of artistic excellence, community engagement, diversity, and inclusion. All programming and content presented at the Theater must align with the Theater’s mission to inspire, entertain, and bring people together through meaningful and respectful artistic expression.
We reserve the right to decline or revoke permission for any event, performance, or activity that is deemed, in its sole discretion, to be inconsistent with these values, including but not limited to content that is discriminatory, defamatory, excessively violent, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate for a community-oriented venue.
We encourage works that uplift underrepresented voices, promote cultural understanding, celebrate authentic storytelling, and foster creativity across all disciplines of the performing arts.
The Gray Box Theater calendar is managed internally to keep scheduling accurate and up to date. While the full calendar is not publicly accessible, our team is happy to check availability on your behalf.
If you are interested in holding or booking a date, please complete the Rental Request Form. Once submitted, a member of our team will confirm availability and guide you through the next steps.
In certain cases, approved producers or partners may be granted limited read-only “free/busy” access to the calendar to help with planning and coordination.
To maintain professionalism, consistency, and financial accountability, the following policy applies to all performances, events, and productions at the Gray Box Theater:
No show may be publicly announced (including but not limited to press releases, social media, websites, or newsletters) until:
